Remember when the worst thing about Fallout 76 merch was a crappy canvas bag? Get ready to feel the bottom dropping out as it’s just been discovered that the collectible power armor helmet could possibly kill you if you wear it.
As MMO Fallout first reported, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for the T-51b Power Armor helmet, which was sold at GameStop’s website starting in June of 2019 and was also part of the Power Armor edition of the game [Bethsoft disputes that the CE box helmets were affected – see below for the full statement]. According to the CPSC, mold could be present on the fabric insert inside the helmet, which poses a severe respiratory risk to those with “compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold.” The recall affects about 20,000 units.
Anyone who still has this helmet should contact GameStop for instructions and a full refund.
