Do you remember Ashfall? It’s a self-described adventure shooter MMORPG from NetEase and Legendary Star Studios that’s set in a post-apocalyptic world where players take up the role of a Wanderer tasked with leaving the safety of a vault in search of the Core of Creation that could save humanity. We cast a spotlight on the game last September and shared one of its dev blogs a month later.
We’re circling back around to this one in order to keep tabs on its updates, as there have been additional previews of the game’s mechanics. Recent blogs showcase a companion system that lets players have an AI friend tag along, a video preview of some weak point mechanics for bosses that players can exploit to deal big damage or interrupt an attack, and a personal base preview that showcases how players can unlock and decorate their own little home in the wasteland.
Ashfall has yet to firm up its release plans beyond sometime later this year for mobile and PC, but an end-of-year tweet promises that work on a beta test is moving along. Until then, there are dev blogs to read and a preview video of the aforementioned boss mechanics after the break.
