Bonus question: What’s an object from your childhood that got lost but you wish you still had?
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): It’s gonna be one of those weekends: Splatfest (go Team Mint Chocolate), Go Sleep event, and I have a (board) games party to hit where I’ll hopefully get to try the new Everybody 1-2 Switch game. Ooh, and the new Mario Kart 8 DLC. Oof, I should sleep tonight so I can just game the whole weekend, haha.
Eliot, why you gotta bring up old pains? I had not one, but two pedal karts as a kid. Both were birthday presents. Both I was required to share with my younger brother. Both were totaled by him because he would crash into gates. And only now, after he’s been in an actual car accident, do I trust him with my car (he was fine, don’t worry).
Andy McAdams: Not much has changed since last weekend, so more Rimworld, EverQuest II, and Lord of the Rings Online… though admittedly LOTRO has taken a bit of a backseat to EQ2. Using the agnostic dungeons to cheese the leveling journey means I got my illusionist up to level 90 in a few days. I would feel worse about it if I hadn’t played through the level 1-50-ish content several hundred times already.
Bonus Question: Nothing jumps to mind.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’ve been playing a mix of Lord of the Rings Online and the not-even-multiplayer Garden Galaxy (bit obsessed with it), so I’ll probably be doing that again since I have a weird and crowded weekend coming up.
We had a ping pong table. I wish my parents hadn’t sold it.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Got some Final Fantasy XIV chores to wrap up this weekend, a game to review, and also a real need to recharge; this week has been exhausting in various ways. Not awful, just exhausting. It should be all right, though.
There are a lot of various things I wish I still had, but the biggest thing I wish I still had access to was my old childhood blanket. It might have finally disintegrated (I had it from when I was a baby) or it just got lost over the years.
Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’m full bore playing Harry Potter Magic Awakened. It’s so gacha which usually turns me off pretty quickly but the gameplay itself is diverse enough that I’m constantly playing and feeling like I’m making good progress. There’s enough earned loot right now that I can still dig it. Also Chained Echoes is so close to complete I can nearly taste it but with the last half of summer beating down on me I’m not sure if I’ll get a lot of time at the Xbox. Going to try though.
Bonus: I had a ton of great PS1 and PS2 games but they are totally lost. The running theory is that some house sitters one summer after I’d left home probably raided my collection. The greatest loss was probably Legend of Dragoon. That game was amazing.
