Nexon is shutting down its multiplayer medieval war game Warhaven in April

this is so sad play... well, you know

You may not have thought much about Warhaven this week prior to reading our PvP columnist Sam Kash’s take on the game’s current state of affairs. That article now sadly serves as a eulogy, as it was written prior to our learning the news that the game has quietly announced an impending shutdown on April 5th. As the article itself noted, the team at Nexon had plainly worked hard to address issues and balance the gameplay, but apparently it was not enough.

No specific reasons for the shutdown are given, although one can imagine the usual culprits are behind the decision. Microtransactions have already been shut down, with an exact schedule for the shutdown to be posted in the coming days. Our condolences for the players and developers affected by the sudden termination, as well as for highlighting the game’s virtues a bit later than we hard originally planned. You always think you’ll get more time.
