New World’s Season of the Guardian is finally set to launch today after a significant delay during which Amazon worked on its massive new combat and animation system.
As readers will recall, the new season and update includes the Winter Rune Forge seasonal trial, eight new artifacts, mounts in Outpost Rush PvP, the final revisions to the MSQ, native controller support, the cooking overhaul, the season pass itself, and of course, Slayer Script – the upgraded combat and animation season that’s so important to the stability of the game.
Servers went down at 8 a.m. EST this morning and are expected back up at 10 a.m. EST.
New World’s Scot Lane did appear for a quick video last night to tell everyone Forged in Aeternum will be released today, so stay tuned for that too.
In the meantime, the patch recap is here with Producer Jorge Oseguera who says the team “take[s] full responsibility” for the delays.
