Sci-fi strategy MMO OGame readies achievements, seasons, and rankings for its 22nd anniversary in October

While we don’t report on it very often, the browser and mobile sci-fi strategy MMO OGame will be marking its 22nd year of operation in October, which is reason enough for developer Gameforge to put out a big new update that will introduce a player achievement and player ranking system.

The update will introduce 270 basic achievements on all servers, which will retroactively unlock once the update goes live. These earned milestones hold hands with a new player profile update that will unlock unique avatars, titles, and planet skins for players to show off, as well as a global ranking system and global high scoring for those who want to see how their endeavors stack up to others.

In addition to these features, OGame will be offering additional seasonal achievements to encourage players to start on new season servers, each of which will feature a particular theme at its core like trade or warfare. These new season servers will open every 12 weeks, with four such seasons planned for the current year.

“For us, this update is about more than just the new content – it’s our way of paying homage to the community who are always seeking to push the boundaries of what we thought was possible, for whom no challenge, obstacle or danger is too great, and who are always reaching for something new beyond the stars,” the devs proclaim. “Thanks for being a part of this community and for helping us to make this journey through the universe together unforgettable!”
