New World releases a new ‘survival’ arc for its Aeternum vids as preorders climb on console

I'mma do it for the vine.

I have to say I did a double-take when I listened to the latest episodes of Discovering Aeternum for New World because the new narrator – who’s apparently usurped Grace O’Malley – sounds exactly like famed Iranian-American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, who just so happens to be starring in a big Amazon TV production right now and has a solid history with the company. I’m probably just crazy, however, because Amazon Games would be shouting this catch from the rooftops, yes?

We asked the studio on Wednesday and still haven’t gotten a confirmation or denial, so who knows. File it under “Bree’s wishful thinking” for the meantime and feast your eyes and ears on the videos themselves, the ninth and tenth in this long series of Amazon reintroducing the game to MMORPG players on PC and teasing it out slowly for would-be console players anticipating the launch of Aeternum in October. Number nine is apparently the first of the “survive” arc as this new character, Urda, explains how she’s managed to be “one of a handful of people who have survived on Aeternum for more than 2,000 years without having their soul wear out or give in to madness.” Number 10 homes in on Urda’s wariness over the Angry Earth faction.

In other news, the New World subreddit is actually joining my wishful thinking arc thanks to a post that suggests Aeternum is selling extremely well on PlayStation.
