Server populations are apparently getting kind of crowded for NA and EU players of Pax Dei, and since this is a survival sandbox MMORPG that has open housing plots, that can be a problem. Luckily, Mainframe Industries is going to open a couple of new shards to help out on Friday, January 10th.
There will be one new NA shard (Sif) and one new EU shard (Bran) that will be available starting at 5:00 a.m. EST, along with the temporary ability for players to transfer their characters to one of these new servers provided they haven’t joined a clan or party and haven’t placed a building plot. This process will require players to contact support in order for transfers to happen, but the studio promises that it is working on a solution that will let players transfer characters themselves along with an automated system to remove unused plots.
The announcement also features an FAQ that confirms these new shards are not flagged as RP servers, explains that SEA populations are stable enough that a new server would have no benefit, and outlines that items in a character’s inventory and learned abilities will transfer over from server to server, while items released when a plot is dismantled will not. Server transfers are also region-locked, meaning NA players can’t move to an EU server and vice versa.
