Deepworld takes mining to the next level

It’s Tuesday here at Massively Overpowered, and that means it’s time to play “Have you played?” So have you guys played Deepworld? If not, we want to point you in the direction of this adorably steampunk title.

Deepworld bills itself as a “massively-multiplayer 2-D crafting adventure game” where players are helping to rebuild the world after the apocalypse. Don’t let its cute presentation fool you; Deepworld has a ton of things to do and an in-depth guide to get you started on your way. Currently the title is available for PC, Mac, and iOS, although there are plans to take it to Android at some point.

You can check out Deepworld’s trailer after the break to get a feel for how the game looks and works.

hostagecat Um actually it’s been out on Windows for a while now.  It may say that it’s a PC / Windows “Beta” but it’s definitely out for PC and has been for a while and they are our permanent characters.  Not everything is finished for the PC version yet but it’s still very fun and playable.

The one place it’s supposed to be in the future that it’s not out for yet is on Android.

Whoa, people aren’t freaking out about the art style yet. Or that it’s not ‘MMO’ enough. Weird.

This game has been on my hard drive for like a year, and I have yet to actually try it out. :( I really ought to give it a go…

It reminds me for some reason of Sabrewulf, circa 1984.
