Dark Age of Camelot tweaks guilds, looks forward to pathing improvements

Broadsword has published the patch notes for Dark Age of Camelot’s 1.118 update. The devs say that they’ve “spent a lot of time working on not only exciting content and improvements but also on some behind-the-scenes fixes for guilds and other systems that won’t find their way into the patch notes.” If you want to read those patch notes, follow the link below, but don’t forget that they only represent version A.

Version 1.118B is scheduled for the coming weeks, and it will include the “New Frontiers” pathing improvements.

Played this game for 8+ years.  I still think about it all the time; and if they are revamping old content it might be my time to return.  I really love what Broadsword is doing for this old bird, and I almost want to do it just to support them.  Keep up the great work.

Jack Pipsam Zariarn  I didn’t say that.  I asked “Why are they waiting 10 years later…..”
My guess is funding, I dunno.

I always say this whenever DAOC comes up in an article, but, I ‘m still surprised by how much I enjoyed this game, and I played it on the PvE-only server — no Realm Versus Realm stuff at all.

I can’t speak to anyone else’s tastes, of course, but I certainly got my fun from it at the time, even without its supposed “main feature” of the PvP.

It’s fairly graphically old at this point, and may make your eyes bleed, depending on where your personal graphics threshold sits — and some of the default keybinds are from before a time when such things got standardized (which can be confusing in the heat of battle) — but I really did enjoy this one.

If Camelot Unchained ever decides to implement a PvE-only server, I expect I’ll give that a look as well. PvP just doesn’t interest me any more, and barely ever did.

Cheers,

Zariarn Would you rather they not do them at all?

Why are they waiting 10 years later to make these fixes and improvements?

Oyjord Aw, I’m sorry. I think PvE will not be entirely absent from the game, but it’s definitely making a conscious decision to prioritize RvR over PvE. I still hope you have a great time in CU!

I’m a day 1 backer of CU, but it’s no DAoC2, since it doesn’t have any PvE. It breaks my heart it doesn’t have PvE btw.

Oyjord Well it’s not exactly the same thing as DAoC2, but does this do anything for you?
