See a pair of high-octane Overwatch matches

Got a few minutes? Then we’ve got some action eye candy for you, straight from the land of Overwatch.

Blizzard recently released two videos of in-game matches featuring bespectacled gorilla Winston and lethal sniper Widowmaker. These gameplay videos are great not just to see how the game engine is performing in alpha but to get a feel for how these characters fight and their weapons function. For our money, nothing beats a hefty gorilla punch!

You can watch the videos after the break.

The grill that fly with a multi-shot bazooka is really broken.

Joseph C That’s kind of your own fault though, isn’t it.(Don’t worry, I’ve done the same countless of times, it happens quite easily) I personally have only watched one Overwatch video, a video of some female medic character I belive it was. So I’m still extremely unacquainted with the game in general, which is a good thing. That lets me experience and game.. via playing the game.
I don’t play TF2, nor have I played Overwatch, so I can’t attempt to answer why someone would play Overwatch over TF2. I guess the primary reason would be that its “fresh” and a “new” experience. Even though its pretty much the same general concept. That is pretty much every game though when you think about it, there is always something else that has done something very similar before it.
You don’t really need to trust Blizzard to do anything right, just play it and decide for yourself when it comes out. Simple as that really. :)

Kinda reeks of CoD bullshot really. Would be interested to see how it will actually play with real players live, this smacks of “make it look cool to sell it, who cares if its not a representation of what the players will experience?”.

That and the mess of a character lineup looks like the art team just up ended a kids toybox and picked whatever would suit a cosmetic cash shop.

All in all not really seeing a reason to play this over something like TF2 with an established userbase. Just looks like another actiblizzion ettempt to milk the e sports teat. As usual for more than half their products lately its coming in too late.

Honestly, I’m burnt out from Overwatch. I’ve seen so many goddamn movies about it, that I know pretty much how every character plays, to the point I’m just not all that hyped anymore. Really, what do I even have to be hyped for, anyway? It’ll just be another game that probably demands 10,000 credits with a 30 credit per game score, and “dailies” that you log in to do once a day, then just log off again since there’s nothing else to do in the game.

Even then, why should I turn from TF2 for it? In TF2, I get all the characters immediately for free (I’m an Orange Box purchaser btw), it has several modes, and community mad maps, all selectable, and it’s built on the ideal of getting into the game immediately and having fun, rather than trying to get into your wallet. After playing Hearthstone and Heroes, I just don’t trust Blizzard to put out a decently enjoyable game. I hope that they can prove me wrong.

I wish they;d show some footage from evenly matched teams instead of these roflstomps.  Pretty to look at but ultimately pointless and stupid.

But man oh man is the clone strong with this one.  Valve is getting pissed I love it.

Ok NOW I’m hyped. I’ve been playing TF2 for far too long and now need another FPS to suck me in.
