Sword and Bored: Ready check

Raiding is my favorite activity in MMORPGs. Large-group PvE content is my favorite. So far Mo hasn’t really seen any raids, until today, when Mo steps into his first raid. That sounds like fun, right?

Let’s see what happens in this week’s comic…

ManastuUtakata Vexia True that. Finger-pointing typically does more stalling and group breaking than anything else.

My Fleet in Star Trek Online is much the same. I will do Special Task Force (i.e. “raid”) runs with most of them, because they’re generally good people — and the Fleet has a “help, don’t blame” policy.

Criticizing someone because they accidentally screwed up is seen as petty and boorish, and any players who do so will be asked to stop.

I was once a pretty crappy “raider”, and now I’m passable, largely because of the patience and support I got from the Fleet.

Cheers,

I had to find two great guilds in SWTOR to encourage me to try again.

For me, it happens when you’ve been waiting in a group-finder queue for what seems like forever — it finally pops — but then there’s that one player who lets the entire check timer run out before declining to join, and everyone else is back in the queue. Gaahhhh!
