When it comes to Blade & Soul, the version that western players isn’t exactly the same as the one in Korea. The developers have decided to bring the western version more in line with its eastern counterpart by merging some of the weapon upgrade path tiers and providing new ways to make your instrument of death all the more fearsome.
“In an upcoming in-game event you’ll be able to reduce your upgrade costs with a new item called a Nebula Weapon Upgrade Stone,” NCsoft posted. “These stones can be used in place of an evolution weapon to reduce the amount of materials and gold required for weapon upgrades, and can reduce your upgrade costs by 10–40%.”
The studio also mentioned that players won’t be losing their weapon gem sockets when upgrading. The chance to lose sockets will disappear, costs for gem sockets will be unified, and affected players will be given extra gem hammers to help with the transition.
