Go to see the Warcraft movie, get a free copy of World of Warcraft

Someone thinks this is neat.

Do you somehow not have a copy of World of Warcraft? It’s weird, but it happens. But now you can get it for just the price of a movie ticket, as purchasing a ticket to see the upcoming Warcraft film at participating theaters (Regal Cinemas, United Artist Theaters, or Edwards Theaters) will get you a free digital copy of WoW in the United States. Other theaters have a similar promotion for the rest of the world as we’ve previously reported.

Of course, that raises the question of why you would be going to the theater to see the movie if you weren’t playing the game, since that’s kind of the crossover market. Perhaps you could offer it to your friend who neither saw the movie nor has the game. Let’s call that friend Trab. Trab might have fun! But he won’t need your copy if he goes with you. This is complicated.

Far less ambiguous are the movie-themed transmog rewards available in WoW proper, which can be earned simply by logging in between May 25th and August 1st. If you’ve always wanted to have weapons that look a little more Alliance or Horde, here’s your chance.
