This week’s particular brouhaha centers around a few new costume additions to the game’s dilithium store. Cryptic is selling Wrath of Khan and MACO outfits for between one and two million dilithium apiece, causing players to speculate if this is a deliberate currency sink or a crazy rounding error.
Cryptic confirmed on Twitter that those were the intended prices.
To put these prices in perspective, players can only refine up to 8,000 dilithium every day if they’ve managed to mine or earn that amount of ore. It should also be noted that dilithium is a free in-game currency, unlike the real-money Zen that’s used for a different store entirely.
