Cue Flight of the Valkyries (or Fortunate Son, as you prefer) because helicopters have arrived in Gaijin Entertainment’s free-to-play vehicular combat game War Thunder. Update 1.81, aptly titled The Valkyries, introduces “a dozen variants [of helicopters] for the United States and Soviet Union” as well as new tanks, aircrafts, and locations.
On the American side, players are able to pilot the Bell UH-1 Huey and the Bell AH-1 Cobra, each of which has three variants from which to choose, while the Soviets can choose between the Mi-4AV, the Mi-24 “Crocodile,” and the Mi-24’s “modern modification,” the Mi-35M. In addition to the new choppers, tanks, and aircraft, the update also adds four new locales in which players can wage war: one ground-battle locale, American Desert; one dogfight-focused locale, Vietnam; and two naval maps, Mediterranean Port and Green Mountains Gulf.
