It’s not going to surprise you that there’s a new batch of stuff out now for Fortnite. That’s largely to be expected; if you’ve had a hankering for a bow that fires shotgun shells or an all-sniper gameplay mode, this update has you covered. What is not necessarily expected is that the community is still up in arms over changes that were made with the game’s most recent version update.
The short version is that in patch 7.40, the game gave players health after elimination, had downed opponents drop materials, and removed the caps on materials. In the eyes of the designers, this was enabling overly aggressive strategies to the exclusion of all else, so the changes were reverted. But players have been up in arms over the changes, claiming that the game now feels slower and less fun to play and prompting extensive complaints about the reversion. It remains to be seen if the revert itself will be reverted, but that’s clearly what players are hoping for.
