Few MMORPGs offer music tools as robust as Lord of the Rings Online’s, and this weekend, MMO players will prove it as they host the massive recurring festival known as Shirefest on the Crickhollow server, at which multiple bands will be teaming up to play through their song lists. The festivities actually kick off this evening at 5 p.m. EDT, but there are acts scheduled through sundown on Sunday – I count 23.
“Join us with a song or story of your own during our open mic Bread & Jam on friday after Alt Rock Band plays, or come to Elevenses on Sunday before the bands start to hear some happy hobbity tunes!” the organizers write. “Listen to your favorite bands play songs that you know and love, new songs never heard in LOTRO before, some light RPing, show off your kites, dazzle everyone with fireworks, dance to the music, or just hang out to listen! Shirefest VI is held at the Methel Stage in Bywater on the Crickhollow server with B&J and Elevenses in the Green Dragon.”
Even if you’re not a hardcore LOTRO player, you can swing by for the fun, as Bywater itself can be relatively easily walked to from the starting Hobbit area. But if you can’t log in at all, you can catch the show on Twitch!
This will be streamed in its entirety all weekend on https://t.co/449n95dLiY (with the first hour on the official game channel cos it's during my show then :P ;) ) https://t.co/CJnUvddgIT
