The last time we peeked in on Gamigo’s Eden Reforestation Projects charity drive, there were over 40K trees planted thanks to players buying up packages for Gamigo’s various MMOs and Satan was on the top of the leaderboard.

It’s been just under a month since then and things have significantly jumped according to a press release — over 80,000 trees have been planted thanks to the event, and in an extension of the little throughline from April’s report, a player named Angel has taken over the top spot in the overall standings.

Due to the overwhelming success of this bit of philanthropy, Gamigo has decided to extend the drive for another week, ending it now on through May 10th for participating regions. “The global gaming community has the potential to become a significant contributor in the fight against climate change, species extinction, and poverty alleviation, and we are thrilled to see the positive response to Gamigo’s event in support of Eden Reforestation Projects,” said Steve Fitch, CEO of Eden Reforestation Projects.

At the time of this writing, the charity drive is likely about to crest 90K trees, with just over 87,000 trees planted. We’ll also be curious to see if the Angel can fight back Satan in the global leaderboard.
