If you’re looking for a 16-bit-styled MMO that’s less about being an adventuring murder hobo and more about just hanging out with others, then consider Everland, a developing free-to-play socially-focused MMO that’s all about “just logging in and hanging out with your friends.”
Everland comes by way of a new indie studio known as, appropriately enough, Everland MMO. While the game may mostly be about hanging out with folks, it also promises some manner of character progression as well, along with things like minigames, quests, and world activities according to the game’s most recent dev blog. That same blog also goes into a promised wealth of customization options for everyone, with all clothing and hairstyles available to all players regardless of gender. It also describes Everland as a place where “pirate ships exist alongside UFOs, pizza-making crabs, and a floating cyberpunk technopolis.”
Everland has successfully completed a stress test this past Sunday. Further details about what’s next for the MMO are likely going to be announced either on it’s official site or Twitter.
