The Warcraft movie twitter shares some deleted scenes from the film

Yay?

You may not have thought about the fact that there was a Warcraft movie for years, bu it turns out that there’s still a bit left in the vault for that particular cinematic outing. After years of dormancy, the film’s official Twitter account came back to life to share a collection of about 14 minutes’ worth of deleted scenes from the film in various stages of completion, although the account declined to mention why these particular scenes were ultimately cut.

While not all of the scenes are entirely finished with some early or placeholder CGI, fans familiar with the movie can likely guess where the scenes were originally meant to go in the finished picture. Why you would be a fan of this particular film is somewhat beyond us, though. Check out the full compilation of deleted scenes just below.

I liked it. The soundmix was terrible, but once I got it on DVD and had the subtitles up, so that I could actually, you know, understand the dialogue, it was fine. I have found that the key to all such items of related media is to consider them individually, on their own terms. So, as an extension of the games, the film was not that great. But as a film about the Warcraft universe, telling a version of that “Orcs vs. Humans” story, it was great.

Maybe this could’ve saved the movie for me if it was released then. But duncan said there was no deleted scenes to make an extended cut. Guess he was lying just like when he said he knows and loves Warcraft.

Please don’t remind me of the movie.

Also that looks like a Chris Metzen cameo at 9:44. Shame they deleted some of these scenes, as the Fel one especially would’ve been nice to sort of try and give a better explanation of wtf it was.

While they diluted some elements of the story, overall I thought the Warcraft movie was a good time. It wasn’t Lord of the Rings or anything close to that, but I thought it was still a pretty good movie. It just had too much ground to cover in so little time, but the First War wasn’t really that interesting anyway – it was more the Second War and everything surrounding that which would really start picking things up. So I really do hope that there could be a second movie in the works that goes into covering that.

Ideally a Netflix series would be the way to go but it has so much CGI that is is probably too expensive for a series.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it would be god awful but it was fine. For me it is the best video game movie, of course that is a very low bar..

That editorial by Eliot aged very well. I remember being so confused watching the movie – and I already new a good bit of Warcraft lore!
