MassivelyOP’s Weirdest MMO Stories of 2022: Weirdest thing MMO gamers did to win a forum argument (thrice)

We’re continuing our traditional countdown of MassivelyOP’s weirdest MMORPG stories of the year!

Coming in at #4 on our list is…

War Thunder players have now leaked military tech secrets three freakin’ times

In 2021, one of our weirdest stories of the year focused on French and English War Thunder players who unintentionally shared classified military intel right smack on the game’s forums in an attempt to win a forum argument about the authenticity of in-game vehicles. Twice. This happened twice. So it’s only appropriate that it happened yet again in 2022, bringing our tally to three and earning another place on this list. This time, it was a Chinese player who accidentally spilled the beans about a real-world tank; he even posted schematics in his efforts to get the tank buffed. GUYS.

“The Venn diagram that sees players of War Thunder and people incapable of keeping classified military documents under wraps is merging into a worrying circle,” we wrote. “But seriously, War Thunder nerds, stop leaking classified military documents.”

Stay tuned for another weird story tomorrow, and don’t forget to check out our annual MMORPG awards and our Golden Yachties!
