There are several MMOs I’m no longer anticipating or even expecting to launch at this point, but let me pick one of the former out and be a little bit provocative: the Runeterra MMO. Oh, it’ll launch. It’ll be a big flooping spectacle and get tons of players and make tons of money. I’ll be objectively glad it exists to help bolster the genre. I’m just… really tired of it already. I’m tired of the teasing and the YouTuber hype and the slavering over Riot. It doesn’t help that Riot spent the lead-up to the announcement laughing at MMO players, which never filled me with hope. I dunno. I’m just over it. Maybe that’ll change once we know more about it.
