Friends, I saw a horrific tweet the other day about – and I am not making this up – a “pay-to-earn gaming guild,” and my first thought was literally, man I’ve been in some real awful guilds and circles in my MMO career, but at least I’ve never been in a “pay-to-earn gaming guild,” whatever the hell that is supposed to be. Imagine the insufferable guild chat. Imagine the social nights. I can’t with it. Call me crazy, but I just can’t fathom thinking a guild about making money (especially in this way) would be a fun way to spend my time. But even if you forget the P2E elements altogether – would you actually want to be in a “guild” with an advisory board?
Don’t answer that question. This is not a “guild” in the sense that most MMO players would recognize anyway. Just tell me about the worst guild you’ve ever been in. You don’t have to name names or out anyone specifically – just give us the gist on how it all came crashing down!
