Epic tweaks LEGO Fortnite, Zack Snyder volunteers to direct a Fortnite movie

I hate so much about the ways you choose to be.

The latest patch to Fortnite is less about adding more pop culture references, launching extra games, or kicking off digital concerts and more about making a bunch of adjustments. However, those adjustments touch battle royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival, so really it’s doing a lot of things at once. Kind of like what the shooter-cum-games platform is trying right now, actually.

First off, battle royale has granted faster movement for characters that are crouching and running, improved medallion readability, made the edge of the storm easier to see, lightened up certain parts of the map at night, and made a host of balance improvements.

Next in the list are a couple of tweaks to LEGO Fortnite that make snacks more filling (in-game; your real world Pringles will still be unsatisfying) and fix a bug that eliminated inventories when moving underground. These are in addition to earlier adjustments to item durability and damage from certain monsters.

In Rocket Racing, Epic has made some incremental adjustments to lessen high-rank queue times while promising to keep eyes on queue matters, made being hit from behind less punishing, and changed the Jackie outfit to unlock at Gold I instead of Gold II. Finally, Fortnite Festival has fixed a missing songs bug, disabled the song restart feature to fix another bug, and disabled fall damage, which ideally means stage diving will be far less lethal now.

In other Fortnite news (in a very tangential sense), apparently Zack Snyder – himself a Fortnite player and fan – is absolutely open to the idea of directing a live-action movie based on the shooter. We’re surprised he’d take on a project that uses a bright color palette, but also we have to assume the gameplay hook of people shooting each other until one person remains would be the film’s central focus.
