Lord of the Rings Online players won’t have to wait until early 2024’s producer’s letter to find out all of the details of what’s coming to this MMO. That’s because YouTuber Bludborn uploaded an interview with SSG Executive Producer Rob Ciccolini, who spilled some of the beans on next year’s plans.

Ciccolini said that players will continue their journeys in the Umbar region as the studio fills in the surrounding areas on the map. The new 64-bit servers are ready to go, although two-factor authentication and the new launcher are being held up for a while. And Elves are slated to get the next round of graphical avatar updates.

He also teased what’s coming for the next legendary servers, saying that it’ll involve “a mechanic with something that would chase you.” European players may even get their own regional legendary world this time around as well.

Finally, Ciccolini addressed the war on lag, saying that their metrics have shown that the issue is becoming less pronounced. However, he anticipates that the 64-bit servers and future work on how much information is linked to characters will make great strides in reducing any slowdown.
