Jagex’s RuneScape-flavored RuneFest returns in 2024 after a four-year hiatus

Hey, remember back when Jagex ran RuneFest for RuneScape players? You might not. The last one was all the way back in 2019, but of course 2020 wrecked everything good and fun, and Jagex has skipped it ever since. Until now, anyway. And by now, we mean 2024.

“RuneFest is back!” Jagex announced this week. “The world’s biggest and best celebration of all things RuneScape will return in Birmingham, UK as a 2-day event on the 7th and 8th of September 2024.”

There isn’t much more to the save-the-date post, as the studio says it’s still working out the details and asking players for input via the survey.

“Whilst we know the date and its location, we’ve still got lots to sort out. One of the common requests from you was to give you as much notice as possible… so that’s why we wanted to send out this ‘save the date’ message so you can start your plans. More information about exactly what we have planned will be coming out early next year, with tickets expected to be available around April 2024.”

The studio has reposted its 2019 video of the event, but we can do better, as MOP’s own MJ actually attended in person and brought back loads of memories – and photos.
