MassivelyOP’s Weirdest MMO Stories of 2023: Weirdest Thing an MMO Company Sent Me This Year

We’re finishing out our traditional countdown of MassivelyOP’s weirdest MMORPG stories of the year!

Coming in at #1 on our list is…

Literally a Can of Spinach

I know people are convinced that we’re swimming in swag, and sure, one time a decade ago Nexon sent a giant bean bag chair to our community manager without warning and it sat out in the rain in a box for days, but most of the time we’re lucky to get an ill-fitting t-shirt meant for a very large dude. We’re not really here for the stuff, anyway, but I do have to say I appreciate a funny press promo, and nobody does it better than Wargaming, which over the last few years has sent me everything from a bar of soap to a can of spinach. And I’m not kidding: The spinach was Popeye-branded for World of Warships’ charity collab with the franchise. Inexpensive and effective and for a good cause too! The way I cackled when I opened that box!

They sent one to MOP’s Ben, too! Clearly, we’re totally bought and paid for.

And that it’s for our silly recaps – don’t forget to check out our annual MMORPG awards and our Golden Yachties!
