Last week the free trial became available for curious players, offering up unlimited access to content but keeping select features like chat channels and trading away, so naturally this week’s community video is going to make sure it talks about the trial in its weekly topic segment.
Embers CM Elloa explains that it will be sharing the trial’s release on its own social media (obviously) but also hopes that “organic” marketing done by players will spread the news far and wide, particularly since Stormhaven Studios isn’t doing a paid marketing push.
“Of course it would be nice if we could do big marketing campaigns. The marketing budget is very often larger than the game development budget. We don’t have that money. […] We have tried to do it with more modest means and it didn’t work because for marketing, you either go full-in or you don’t, apparently.”
