MapleStory prepares players for an intense combat… picnic?

If there’s one thing that MMORPGs have taught me, it’s that any time a quest sends you to have a meal or picnic with someone, it’s going to end in a bloodbath. I mean, what else is going to happen, someone passes the jam aggressively? You glare at each other over the last scone? That’s what I thought.

Such a picnic is coming with MapleStory’s spring update. Nexon provided a preview of this patch which includes the Minar Picnic quest, an enusing treasure hunt, a couple new lore books, a revamp of the character user interface, improvements to the monster farm, and other quality-of-life updates.

Oh, and there’s one last thing: A full-on revamp of the crafting system. Nexon said that changes like the removal of cooldowns, no more decay, and instanced harvesting maps “will allow you to craft and farm faster than ever before.”
