Terraria’s 1.4.5 patch has no ETA – but it has rollerskates

As we’ve been covering, multiplayer sandbox Terraria is pushing toward its 1.4.5 launch, the next and probably not really last of its final updates, if we know Re-Logic. The studio’s latest dev blog teases that it’s “skating in to report on a banner month” – and yes, that means roller skates.

“New Roller Skates will allow you to scoot around easily while placing blocks or platforms […] and will even let you grind the rails,” the team says.

Lest you think the announcement was just a proto-April Fools’ day tease, nope. They did a Terraria “Undeluxe” joke for that.

Re-Logic isn’t giving away too much else of what’s coming in the patch, however – nor does it have an ETA for the update.

“The development teams have continued to make great progress on Terraria 1.4.5, and we are back this month with some fresh spoilers that we hope everyone will enjoy. The team has recently been diving into some multiplayer testing that has triggered a few ideas within the team that we are planning to explore in the near future,” the studio says. “We still do not have a final sense for when 1.4.5 will arrive (nor what all might still be added!) – as always, the timing will be ‘when it’s ready.'”
