The idiom goes that you can’t judge a book by its cover, but we’re reasonably sure that a game called Blight: Survival is pretty much going to bring what it says on the tin. So really it’s less like a book and more like a box of cookies; you can be assured there will be survival and blight going on here, at least in the general sense of those words.
In fact, here’s the elevator pitch of the game straight from developer Haenir Studio and its new partner Behaviour Interactive:
“Blight: Survival takes place in the no man’s land between two desperate kingdoms locked in a ceaseless war. Within this realm of death and decay, a new strain of Blight has erupted from the remains of the fallen. Fed and strengthened by the blood that’s been spilled, it rapidly spreads – turning man into monster.”
The self-described “medieval action-horror co-op survival game” will let up to four players team up in order to take on the aforementioned blighted horrors, with gameplay promising directional combat, diverse weapons and armor, and a blend of roguelike and extraction features as players will have to decide whether to get out safely or press forward.
A launch date for Blight: Survival hasn’t been tied down yet, but Haenir and Behaviour both promise more details soon. In the meantime, there’s a Discord to join and a Steam title to wishlist for those who want to keep up to date.
