Fallout 76 is giving players a highly customizable outpost with the upcoming Milepost Zero update

As most fans of Fallout 76 know, putting together the perfect CAMP is the real endgame. But what if you were capable of customizing an entire outpost? That’s the tentpole feature for the Milepost Zero update due later this year, but it looks as if getting to that sweet customization gameplay will take some doing.

According to the preview shared by PC Gamer, players unlock this function by completing brahmin escort missions as they guide the mutant cows that are carrying important supplies for the Blue Ridge Caravan Company. According to lead producer Bill LaCoste, these missions won’t be plain sailing owing to the fact that the brahmin will be easily distracted by multiple things along the way, such as a bundle of tasty grass. (Same, honestly.)

Once an outpost is secured, additional escort missions will unlock more items for players to put down, including brahmin to raise, specialized vendors from around the game world, and of course lots of housing items to place. Speaking of placement, that’s being done with a level of detail that’s likened to the house building features in Skyrim – and it’s all specific to the recently opened southern portion of the map without requiring the purchase of another CAMP slot. Housing fans rejoice, probably.
