Pax Dei confirms its next big update, Proving Grounds, will arrive on November 5 – alongside server merges

For the past couple of weeks, Pax Dei has been talking up its next major content update, which is set to bring things like a journal feature and various updates to things like map geography and PvE encounters. Mainframe Industries has now officially revealed both a name for the content patch – Proving Grounds – as well as a release date of Tuesday, November 5th.

In addition to the aforementioned bullet points, Proving Grounds will add reworked enemy factions, rebalanced gear, new spells and equipment, an Unreal Engine upgrade, and improvements to the feel of combat. Mainframe promises patch notes as the launch date nears.

This update is set to make a pretty significant splash in terms of deployment as well as features; maintenance associated with the patch will take approximately four hours and all shards will be completely deleted and replaced with new ones when it does go live. An associated FAQ also notes that opening these new shards is effectively a server merge in order to “provide a better gameplay experience as [players will] encounter more adventurers to play with.” There will be two servers for EU players, two for NA players, and one for SEA players.

As for those who have active buildings, as reported before, those will be deleted too, but players will get all of their materials and items back in a special inventory; unfortunately they will have to rebuild from memory as the studio was unable to get a blueprint system working in time.
