Pax Dei schedules a temporary test in its PvP province tomorrow to assess interest in ‘real PvP’

Sure, there’s PvP to be had in Pax Dei, but is it really PvP if you’re not also razing players’ buildings to the ground and stealing all of the stuff in their chests? That’s the notion that Mainframe Industries is looking to investigate with a temporary test that’s opening tomorrow, October 23rd, until the launch of its Proving Grounds update on November 5th.

This test will not be happening on a test server; it will occur in the early access build at the stated time frame since the next update is going to wipe the map clean anyway and subsequently reset Lyonesse’s rules. This means players will be able to build structures in the province (provided they have an open plot claim) and those structures will be subject to the usual plot rules; if players make their stuff public, it can be destroyed and looted, and entering build mode will not protect them.

The test is basically being run to see how building in Lyonesse changes strategies in the zone and observe how solo players and clans will devise strategies with the new wrinkle. “We want to assess players’ interest in PvP and building in the PvP province,” the studio explains. “We’ve read quite a lot of feedback from people who want ‘real PvP,’ and we’re offering you a taste of it.”
