Thank you, everyone, for providing your feedback on what the new, serious version of What Are You Playing will look like going forward. I greatly appreciate those of you who have been respectful and calm, and that we have once again been blessed with a week in which no one has turned something from these introductions into a real food item. Don’t go looking. No, don’t click away, just read here. Before we announce the final results, I wished to address some feedback that I received in the course of providing these options.

Dear sirs,
Please eliminate three vowels in your site’s name.
Sincerely, Roger Stonewright Murder Agincourt the Fifth (Mrs.)

Thank you for writing. Unfortunately, the only way to eliminate any vowels in our site’s name will require vastly increasing the number of vowels for an extended period of time, and the resultant name (Mooooooosivelyyyyyyy Oooooooooooooooooovaaaaaaaaarpowereeeeeeeeeeeed) is trademarked in the United Kingdom by a particularly aggressive colony of bats. In order to avoid a protracted legal battle we will thus be unable to fulfill your request. Please enjoy our apologetic first run of our t-shirt, which has our site address misspelled as “massivelyopeefarm.coma” due to a disagreement with the silkscreening company.

Dear sirs or madams,
I wish to know who the elven maiden is pictured on the July 17th blog post that appears to be about an elven maiden. She is quite comely and I would like to go a-courting.
Sincerely, Lord Thistleblossom of the Velvet Wood

We are sorry to inform you that the elven woman in question is not a maiden but is in fact a mother of four. You will be penalized tuppence along with seven Elf Coins for this error, as is the custom of our land.

Dear madams,
I like the birdy pictures.
Sincerely, Veronica (Age Nine)

Thanks, Veronica! We’re always happy to get a letter from one of our younger readers, but please make sure not to click onto the Massively After Dark section of the website. (Note to our adult readers: Massively After Dark contains adult topics. Mostly tax forms, discussions about high-yield annuities, and filling out last wills and testaments while re-paying old bills.) We’ve had to discontinue our annual One Shots that’s just about birds because birds have been cancelled this year, but we hope you enjoy the replacement, which is dogs we’ve hurled off a cliff.

That’s all the time we have for letters this week; tune in next week for the serious version of the column! I mean it this time. I know I said I meant it the last time, but this time I really mean it. Wait, did I say that last time? Whatever.

Bonus question: What’s your favorite sort of muffin?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Exercise games and Splatoon 3, as my pup permits.

It’s a toss up between blueberry muffins and chocolate zucchini. Chocolate zucchini can be dicey, but when it’s made right, it’s so good. When you don’t wanna gamble though, blueberry’s a safe pick.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I haven’t really been playing anything this week, but maybe I’ll dip into Guild Wars 2. I might go poke around in Lord of the Rings Online too. It’s such a lovely comfort MMO.

The best muffin is cupcakes.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I’ve still got a few things to unlock and cheevos to chase in the magnificent Ode to Castlevania DLC in Vampire Survivors, so that’s likely going to be my primary weekend activity. I’ve also gotten the survivalbox bug once more and so I’ll be trying Enshrouded out with a bit more focus than the… uh… two hours? I’ve played previously.

Bonus: Cranberry orange. It’s a perfect mix of tart and savory if it’s done right, and muffins always feel like a breakfast item so that flavor seems to be the best kind of wake-up for me.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): I’ll be prepping for Tuesday’s Final Fantasy XIV patch, although… perhaps with less zeal than you might expect? I’m already pretty much prepared, so it’s just running down the margins at this point. Throw in some single-player stuff and it’s off to the races.

Lemon poppyseed and pistachio are both top-tier muffin picks, but I also feel like people unfairly sleep on a good corn muffin.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I have two overriding gaming priorities this weekend: Finally getting to dig into Lord of the Rings Online’s newest expansion, Legacy of Morgoth, and trying to dig myself out of a pile of World of Warcraft weeklies, anniversary quests, and side quests. I’ve also been toying with creating a WoW Classic character just for fun.

Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): I am playing Lost Ark this weekend. What can I say? I am a sucker for free stuff, I got some free stuff, so now I am going to go give it a fair try.

I like orange cranberry muffins and lemon muffins (with or without poppy seeds). Basically, any citrus muffin. Does anybody have a lime muffin recipe?

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): So I actually did it! Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been completed! It was an epically difficult game but I also had it set to immortal mode, which was the hardest outside of no death I think. Final boss had four transformations! Which was about two more than I expected. He wasn’t the hardest in the game but it was a battle. Now I’m playing… The Lost Crown DLC! Ubisoft apparently released it within the last month and I figured I wanted to do it while I still have the muscle memory. So… that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend.

Bonus: So easy, banana nut. There’s literally no other choice. Literally.

Every Saturday, join the Massively OP community and staff for What Are You Playing, our roundup of what MMORPGs and other games we’re hoping to play this weekend (with a bonus question or two for our amusement). Tell us what you’re up to! Go off-topic! And don’t forget to have fun!
