As it has for the last many years, Warframe studio Digital Extremes has kicked off its Tennobaum event, prompting gift-giving for the benefit of players as well as a charity. This year’s beneficiary is Toys for Tots Canada.
Here’s how it works: Players are encouraged to spend money on the in-game market and gift their purchases to others. As this happens, Digital Extremes will find its heart growing three sizes bigger and funnel a portion of the proceeds as donations to Toys for Tots.
Additionally, through this program (which ends on January 3rd), players can contribute to a community-wide reward meter that will unlock goodies for everyone at certain intervals. For example, at 20,000 gifts given, the studio will donate $10,000 and give everyone the Harmony Solstice Skin and Community Tennobaum Jade Glyph. If players donate 100,000 total gifts, Toys for Tots gets a whopping $60,000.
Last year, Digital Extremes passed $60,000 along to the 2023 charity, Canada’s Shine Foundation, which benefits “children and youth living with severe physical disabilities.”
Fun fact, some of the player rewards this year are a throwback to The Amazing Eternals, a game DE canceled in 2017.
