Usually moving a game’s version to a new whole number heralds a big change, and that would appear to be the case for multiplayer RPG Wuthering Waves as its Version 2.0: All Souls Can Sing update prepares to arrive to fans today, January 2nd.
This new update introduces the land of Rinascita, a collection of city-states that will open up the second chapter of its main story, starting off in the city of Ragunna and the beginning of the Carnevale festival as part of the eight new areas that will be available to explore. The update is also bringing some side quests related to the upcoming two new characters, the dual pistol-wielding Carlotta and the combat performer Roccia.
The massive size of the landmass will introduce multiple echo abilities that lets players take flight, ride gondolas, or turn into a long distance jumping plushie in order to more easily traverse Rinascita. A total of 40 new echoes will be introduced with Version 2.0, some of which can be previewed in at a special web page that also grants in-game rewards.
Finally, several other features are coming to the game including a series of new events, two new craftable weapons, the ability to switch the main player character’s appearance every 24 hours, and access to synthesis from anywhere in the game.
A preview video from Kuro Games and a cinematic trailer both provide more details below.
