Torchlight Infinite’s new season takes you to cloud city (but not that one)

The Torchlight brand’s current holdout is hoping to make a strong case why this is the online ARPG that should be sucking up your attention right now. This weekend, XD Games announced that it’s launching Season 8: Sandlord for Torchlight Infinite on April 17th with a huge new economic system and a revamped Thea character.

In Season 8, Torchlight Infinite players are given their own cloud oasis — “a floating stronghold of commerce and conquest” — where you’ll build up an economic powerhouse and assign workers to tasks in upgraded buildings. Additionally, there’s the new Oracle-Thea to play, and overhaul of Deep Space, a Probes modifier system, an endgame boss named Night Slayer, and a Blending system.

“Players will also gain access to the new Blending system, which allows powerful hero traits, talent nodes, and unique affixes to be crafted onto belts — unlocking deeper build possibilities than ever before,” the studio said.
