EverQuest announces its 25th expansion, The Burning Lands, coming this December

Not many MMOs can boast that they’ve been around long enough to receive a whopping 25 expansions, but inveterate fantasy MMO EverQuest will receive that exact distinction when its next expansion, The Burning Lands, launches this December. The Burning Lands, as the name may suggest, will be taking players from the environs of Kunark and into the elemental planes. “The expansion name might give you some clues, but let’s just say that air and fire will play a big role in your upcoming adventures,” Daybreak’s official announcement says, in a textbook example of subtlety.

Aside from the fact that players will apparently be venturing forth into the elemental planes of air and fire, however, details about the expansion’s content are scarce: “From new monsters, zones, items, raids, and more, we can’t wait for you to return to the Planes, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for additional information,” the announcement says.

In the meantime, Daybreak also wants to remind players that Fall Fun will be coming back this November, which “will bring [players] bi-weekly bonuses leading up to the expansion launch,” including “bonus experience, faction bonuses, rare spawns, and more.” We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we learn more about The Burning Lands between now and its launch this December.
