It’s been less than a month since the release of No Man’s Sky’s last major content update, The Abyss, but the folks at Hello Games clearly haven’t been resting on their laurels, as today they announced the imminent release of another huge update called Visions. Whereas The Abyss was all about aquatic exploration, Visions calls players back to the world above to venture forth onto new planets featuring all-new biomes, flora, fauna, and more.
The update also adds a handful of new activities in which players can take part, such as archaeology, which has players digging up ancient bones of alien lifeforms to try to piece together full skeletons that are “particularly rare and especially valuable.” In addition, the crashed freighters that players can find scattered throughout the universe are now procedurally generated, so each one should present a new challenge for players looking to salvage the precious cargo stowed within.
And to top it off, there’s now a new Community Research mission type that “allows explorers to share progress and work toward a common goal” and which will reward players with access to unique cosmetics, decorations, emotes, and more. You can check out some of the new planets and biomes in the update’s official trailer below, or you can head over to the game’s official site to peruse the patch notes in full.
