It’s time for Sea of Thieves’s first developer update video of the new year, and this time around, Executive Producer Joe Neate is here to remind players of the Pirate Code and take a look at what’s happening in the latest game update. Neate proudly notes that Sea of Thieves apparently made it onto quite a few end-of-the-year best-of lists, resulting in a potential influx of new players in the coming months.
In light of this, he spends a significant portion of the video reminding players of the existence of the Pirate Code: “Everyone is welcome on Sea of Thieves,” Neate says, adding, “We do not discriminate against anyone for any reason.” This seems especially pertinent to the greater Sea of Thieves community, as many players on the game’s subreddit seem to have been raising concerns over increasingly frequent instances of toxic behavior within the game.
As far as game update news is concerned, information is pretty slim. The most recent update was primarily comprised of bug-fixes, so there’s not a whole lot to report there. Players will, however, be pleased to know that bugs that prevented some players from receiving rewards after defeating the Kraken have been fixed, so everyone should now be properly rewarded for his or her efforts. Beyond that, there’s not much news regarding what we can look forward to as we move into the new year, but hopefully we’ll be hearing more from Sea of Thieves soon enough.
