Go ahead and laugh, but one of the fall games I was genuinely looking forward to was Conan Chop Chop. It’s Funcom’s latest Conan game, originally revealed as an April Fool’s Day joke, but as it turned out, it was a real game for PC and console, including my beloved Switch. And I super want it.
Unfortunately, I’m going to be waiting a little while longer for it, as Funcom and dev Mighty Kingdom announced today that they’re delaying the goofy hack-and-slasher from its original planned launch of September 3rd to first quarter 2020. Funcom, however, says it’s not a problem with perception – in fact, MMO players are going to be much happier, as the companies say they want to “expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer” since that’s “undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after [the studios] started showing off the game.” Now I super-duper want it.
“Following a very successful first demo of the game to press this summer, the companies have decided to increase their investment in the project to deliver a bigger and better game. Among the features to be implemented in the upcoming action-adventure roguelike is online multiplayer.”
