After multiple rounds of alpha this past spring and summer, the SpatialOS MMORPG sandbox Fractured will finally launch into Alpha 2 this month. “The first testing phase, labeled Alpha 2 – Test 1, is starting on Wednesday, November 20, at 4pm CET (10am ET), and is expected to last for at least two weeks,” Dynamight Studios writes.
While the last test was centered on new content, this one will provide a “large tech upgrade” in the form of SpatialOS and engine buffs, the game’s horizontal progression system, new learnable abilities, new points of interest, new networking protocol, and the new launcher. And nope, there’s no NDA.
“Alpha 2 – Test 1 is open to all players who have pledged to Patron or higher in the old store or on Kickstarter, plus all players who have purchased (or will purchase) a Legend pack in the new Fractured Store.”
The hook for Fractured is that it’s focused on sandbox gameplay without annoyances: player cities, consensual PvP, and anti-grind philosophy. It Kickstarted last year for $130,000. We checked out the game ourselves back in April, but we do remind you, this game was very, very unfinished at the time, so don’t judge it too harshly.
