The war against the hungry bot horde continues in WoW Classic. Shortly after Blizzard gave 74,000 accounts the boot, the devs have once again checked in with an update that saw an additional 40,000 accounts get banned for botting, hacking, and RMT dealing.
This new figure is part of a reported increase in botting activity since June according to the post, with actions taken against accounts surging to 2,000 to even 4,000 a day. Most of the accounts in question are based in the Americas, EU, Korea, and Taiwan. The post also credits player reports for helping the devs battle the growing encroachment of bot activity.
“We’re dedicated to driving the the exploiters away wherever we can, as we continue to make our response to this one of our highest priorities,” promises the post. “This is a long-term effort that becomes continuously more difficult, as exploits and those who use them are driven by real money profit motives.”
