Bonus question: Do you like hot sauce and spicy foods?
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Gonna be a lot of Pokemon Go this weekend, though not spending a dime. Also gonna try to do some Pokemon Unite and Monster Hunter Stories 2. My friend and I are just getting into the super rare dens and wow, what a blast! If only it didn’t take so long to get there, yeesh.
Oh god, I love spicy food! Like others, I’m not gonna burn myself like some out of some food fetish, but if it’s got good heat and flavor, yeah, I’m all in. Korean spicy is basically my limit- not “spicy for foreigners,” but the legit stuff that makes the old chefs happy, but I rarely go that far.
Andy McAdams: Last weekend I ended up playing Subnautica randomly all weekend. This weekend – who knows, but I’m at least intending to play Guild Wars 2, Rimworld, and maybe whatever other random interest rears its head at me.
Ooh yes, hot and spicy all the way. I’m big on Thai spicy, but jalapenos are also one of my favorites. Bring on the burn (with the flavor)! If it’s just burn and no flavor, well that’s no good. If it’s burn and flavor I’m all for it.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): My adventures in Albion Online are done for now, so I’m going to head into… maybe Guild Wars 2, although City of Heroes and Lord of the Rings Online have been calling my name.
Nope to the spicy. I like spicy scents, though!
Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I am going to try to resist the siren song of Guild Wars 2 expansion hype, try and earn some more Gunbreaker levels in Final Fantasy XIV, and try to knuckle down on some Star Wars Galaxies stuff. You’ll note the operative refrain of “try” there, as my vacation from having two jobs is at an end my free time pool has evaporated significantly as a result.
I love hot sauce and spicy food, but with a certain specific condition. I like spicy food when it enhances the flavor or makes you want to eat more. I don’t like that chest-thumping, tuff guy, flavor deficient sauce or spice that’s just packaged to prove machismo: that crap is about as good at gauging badassery as a rodeo and is just about as useless to society.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Eh, some stuff to review but I mostly expect it’ll be a calm weekend for me. I’ve got a paucity of stuff to do online, but maybe that’s a good thing? I’m sure I’ll find something to keep me occupied.
Good spicy flavors are absolutely delicious. It’s very possible to get something that’s too spicy for whatever reason, but on a whole I really enjoy a nice spicy dish.
Sam Kash (@thesamkash): The majority of gaming coming up for me will be to complete the Guild Wars 2 Icebrood Saga. I’m onto the final chapter, or whatever they call it, so there won’t be any issue completing it before Cantha. I’ve always been a guardian main and with the announcement of the Willbender (terrible name) I’m actually starting to feel some hype. It’s funny, I haven’t been excited about Guild Wars 2 since Heart of Thorns (terrible expansion). The features they’ve shown off so far don’t do anything for me, but I am excited to play my guardian again. I’m also still trying to complete Moonlighter, a single player game.
Bonus: Yes I do like spicy food. Give me some curry and let’s go!
Tyler Edwards (blog): I have a lot of tabletop gaming lined up for this weekend. Returning to Curse of Strahd after the campaign went on a hiatus, and I’ve got another Wyrd Street test. I’ve also been diving into Fantasy Flight Games’ Lord of the Rings card game (Glorfindel OP). If I find the time for any video games, I’m not lacking for options there, either. Age of Empires II DE just launched another expansion, there’s the Back 4 Blood open beta, and I really would like to make some progress in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
Bonus question: I am absolutely addicted to spicy food. I legit feel bad for people who can’t handle spice, because scotch bonnets have one of the most wonderful flavors I’ve ever experienced.
Pierre, patron: I’m back from some days away from my computer visiting family. I will be able to go back to Final Fantasy XIV, still my MMO of choice these days. I also decided to go back to Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully, the game has been patched and will not suffer from the multiple little bugs that killed my immersion in the game when it launched last December. For instance, one small detail that really killed it for me was a bug with the way the game assesses distances; you’re in an underground shooting range, with NPCs shooting guns around you, and when you shoot your gun on a target (not on a NPC of course), people in the street outside start panicking and calling for the police, just because the game doesn’t realize there’s a thick wall between you. I’ll let you know if it’s been dealt with. Finally, I started playing Chernobylite and quite enjoy this close relative to the Fallout series.
And you MOP readers, what are you playing these days? I’m curious, as always.
