The Daily Grind: Do you regret not backing any MMO Kickstarters?

Yes, I'm aware of the disconnect of using this as an example, just move past it.

Let’s be real about something – there are a lot of MMO Kickstarters that crash and burn well before getting to the “launch” stage. Some of them implode pretty early in the “concept” stage. But at this point we also can’t pretend that no MMOs based on Kickstarter pitches have ever made their way to launch. Several Kickstarted titles have actually entered the wilds of launch, and while the success levels of those games varies, the point is that they fulfilled at least the basic promise of getting a game out the door.

We tend to remember the games that we backed when it later becomes clear we should definitely not have done that, but today, I want to ask the inverse. Are there any MMO Kickstarters that you regret not backing? Now that you know that these titles would definitely produce a finished title and observing how that finished game plays, are there titles you wish you had bought into ahead of launch?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
