Genshin Impact is already an anime you can play with its visual style, story beats, and trope-y collection of husbandos and waifus among its playable roster, but sometime in the future, it will also be an anime you can watch. Developer Hoyoverse introduced a concept trailer unveiling a look at this anime adaptation in collaboration with anime studio Ufotable, which is known for series and OVAs like Fate/stay night and Demon Slayer as well as work on video games like the God Eater series and Code Vein.
The concept trailer is pretty much a concept in the purest sense of the word, as it offers several sweeping vista shots from the world of Mondstadt set to the game’s incredible score… and not much else; there aren’t many more clues about Hoyoverse’s plans beyond calling it a “long-term project.” In any event, there’s some gorgeous footage to soak yourself in below the break.
As for GI the game, the preview page for Update 3.1 is available for players to swim around in, offering up a look at new and returning characters, new weapons, and new bosses. There’s also a quick briefing on some of the events that will arrive with the patch as well.
