Palworld, a survivalbox everyone was sleeping on and got basically zero traction over the last two and a half years we’ve been covering it, has apparently now sold 7M copies in just five days. As I type this, the game has set a new Steam record of 1,951,507 concurrent players (and climbing). Only PUBG has ever had more.
Pocket Pair is celebrating the moment with a brief roadmap with no dates; the studio said its initial goal is to deal with critical bugs, rollbacks, config improvements, AI, and pathing. In the longer-term, the team is working on PvP, endgame content, crossplay, console features, server transfers, the building system, new islands, new pals, new bosses, and new tech.
“Sales have far exceeded the development team’s expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges,” the team writes. “We will prioritize improving this issue first, and then move on to implementing new in-game features.”
