Albion Online broke its Steam player concurrency record again as it contends with block in Indonesia

Sandbox Interactive hasn’t released Albion Online player counts since Albion Europe went live, but if Steam is any indication, it’s going over super well.

According to SteamCharts, the game’s peak player count on Steam (though not its average) is at its highest ever, over 27,000 peak concurrent just on that platform. That’s just a sliver of the game’s playerbase, of course, as it’s playable on mobile and off Steam too; last year, the launch of Albion East drove the game to a total over 300K peak concurrent across all platforms.

In other Albion news, SBI has updated its launcher and acknowledged that the game is blocked in Indonesia. “We’ve contacted Indonesian authorities to resolve the situation,” the team says. “While the resolution is in the process, you can log in using a VPN. After getting into the game, the VPN can be turned off.”
